Ady BibbyCreative Partner
Founding partner Ady has been both judge and winner at many major national and international awards (not simultaneously!), and keeps a close eye on the agency’s output and creative reputation. A lover of the craft of design and collector of Morecambe and Wise artefacts, he is also tipped (by himself) to be a future Chairman of Rochdale FC, and currently resides with his wife and trusty dog in Lancashire’s oldest barn.
Karen HughesCreative Director
One-time overseer of the ball pool at McDonalds, Karen now watches over the design team at True North, as well as coming up with some of our biggest ideas. She leads from the front outside work too, captaining our 10K team to a host of stunning finishes and putting in sterling performances in the Great North Run. And despite her fitness regime, she’s also quite happy to chill out with a box set of Mad Men.
Neil MasonBrand Strategy Director
Neil’s the perfect Brand Strategist for True North, as his Degree is in Product Design. In fact, he spent the first five years of his career working as a product designer for an innovations consultancy, and thus has his name attached to several Patents for… well… brassieres actually. These days he helps us to achieve the perfect balance of creativity and strategy, on client presentations that we can only describe as ‘uplifting.’
Tree TabernorHead of Operations
Tree has been with True North for more than a decade; and as well as personally creating our project management systems, has also acquired the unofficial title: ‘Head of Making It Happen.’ Which is just as well, as she’s also Mum to two tiny tots, who take up all her time when she isn’t cheering Jenson Button on in every F1 race or baking up a storm with her fellow members of the Women’s Institute. No, really…
Khadija KapaceeAccount Director
Khadija has a wealth of international experience, having worked for a global network agency in Kenya before coming to the UK. Yet she brings more than simply an international outlook to the team, as she’s also fluent in Arabic, Hindi, Gujurati, Swahili, and of course English. Not content with being multi-lingual, she’s a qualified make-up artist too; which puts a whole new complexion on the skills our team usually offer.
Emma BluckAccount Manager
Essex girl Emma helps us to maintain long-lasting client relationships, and a happy studio too, thanks to an unerring ability to keep every job on time and on budget. Her wonderful home baking is also essential to the team. This includes gorgeous Gingerbread Bears and a legendary Lemon Drizzle Cake. And when she isn’t attending music festivals from Croatia to Glasto, she is a huge fan of musical theatre.
Calandra TennantSenior Account Executive
Design graduate Cally has a wealth of experience, including work on stage sets for Lily Allen and All Saints. However, having realised she enjoyed project management more than design, she spent a year in China before becoming an account handler. She is also a fan of all things sci-fi, having spent a childhood being taken to Star Trek conventions in a yellow, Next Generation lycra jumpsuit.
Ed DunsdonArtwork Manager
With more than 10 years of experience in design and print, Ed’s the ideal Artwork Manager for True North, with a commitment to detail that we can only describe as ‘steely.’ Which, by happy coincidence, is also the perfect adjective to describe his activities out of the agency, where he regularly ‘suits up’ in his armour and wields a 16-foot pike on behalf of the Parliamentarian side in the Sealed Knot’s Civil War re-enactments.
Sarah DuttonSenior Designer
Sarah joined us straight from university eight years ago, and brings a wealth of talent to the team, as well as a mastery of room set design and all things shabby chic. In fact, the only thing that could tempt her away is the chance to replace Kirsty Allsop, the home design and crafty person off the telly. Sarah also nurtures the talents of the younger designers, as well as being a stalwart of our 10K team.
Adrian NewellSenior Designer
Adrian’s work has been featured in a number of leading design books, and his football posters have appeared in exhibitions in both Saint Etienne and Valencia. A fine eye for detail has also made him the Kerning King of True North, though as a big fan of ‘the horizontal stripe’, he has also been likened to a poor man’s Louis from One Direction.
Since graduating in 2008, Adele has developed some serious skills across design for print, web and a variety of digital platforms. Just as importantly, she’s the proud owner of her very own jet ski, and also a banana boat to tow behind it! So if you need any of us at the weekend, we’ll probably be down at the Lakes with our BFF and aquatic team leader Adele.
Sarah was on placement with us a couple of years ago, before, clutching her new degree in Graphic Design, heading off to Chef in a French ski resort for the season. Once we knew she was available, however, Ady hired her by phone while she was on a chair-lift, and she started the next day. When she isn’t working on brand design or relentlessly tidying up after everyone, Sarah also runs half marathons for fun.
RustyInspector of Bins
Yes, we know, it’s silly having Rusty on the payroll. After all, as a Hungarian Vizsla he doesn’t speak a word of English; which may be why he was a stray in Warrington until recently. He now does three days a week here, in his role as Inspector of Bins. Though he also works hard at putting the fear of dog into anyone in a biker’s jacket. Which explains why our reception area is generally free of motorcycle couriers…
