Helen DunkStudio Manager
A studio as lively as ours needs someone to keep an eye on the little details at all times. That’s where Helen comes in, making sure everything runs smoothly. As Head of Making Things Happen, she is the person most likely to welcome you on your arrival at True North, a role she perfected during her previous incarnation as a ski chalet host; not to mention a seven-year stint as a PC with Greater Manchester Police.
Ed DunsdonArtwork and Production Manager
As a key part of the creative process, Ed’s role is to ensure every piece of artwork leaves True North on time and 100% accurate. In his long career, there’s not much print and digital production Ed hasn’t seen, meaning he helps identify potential problems before they occur. What Ed says tends to go – not only is he is the great-grandson of designer Eric Gill, he also fights the Parliamentarian cause as part of the Sealed Knot society.
Sarah DuttonSenior Designer
Sarah joined True North in 2005 working as the creative lead on Royal Mail’s marketing programme. Since then she has led on branding projects for clients including Chester Zoo, British Council, LEGO® Education, Springer Nature and the Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race. Clare FinchFinancial Controller
Clare is our Financial Controller and holder of the hugely important keys for petty cash. A graduate in International Business Finance, she has worked for numerous global organisations, recently spending 3 years in Kuala Lumpur, helping to establish a new financial centre. She is currently on maternity so don’t be surprised if her husband Brian answers the phone. Fortunately for us, he’s also qualified in all aspects of financial management.
Since joining in 2012 Sarah has worked on a number of high-profile projects for the National Trust and has been instrumental in the rebrand of National Gallery of Ireland. She is also heavily involved with LEGO® Education, delivering marketing materials for global campaigns. In addition to leading her own projects, Sarah acts as mentor to our placements. When she isn’t at work, she’s a keen runner, completing 10Ks, half and full marathons.

Steve RoyleCreative Director
Steve is a firm believer in the power of design to enable behavioural change: a philosophy that informs his creative leadership. Over the last 20 years he has delivered solutions for many global brands from Astra Zeneca to WaterAid. He describes his first sight of the Ford Sierra at the age of 9 as a ‘turning point’ in his life. He also acknowledges he comes from a small town where you had to take your design kicks where you could find them.

She is also an important part of our Together and LEGO® Education teams. As a design graduate, Cally has a genuine enthusiasm for great design, as well as a desire to deliver exceptional work to clients. She is a frequent visitor to music festivals and also enjoys drawing and hiking.
Beth, who spent 12 months on student placement, joined us full-time in 2017 after graduating with a First Class Honours degree. We were incredibly keen to snap her up and she has been providing intelligent and articulate support across all of our accounts from day one. A keen photographer, Beth also loves sketching, nature and all things typographic. She will also admit to having a slightly weird obsession with ampersands.
Sally ChukuAssociate Brand Strategist
Sally brings extensive comms and planning experience to us, ensuring our ideas are always in sync with our clients' business goals. She has developed brand and media strategies for organisations as diverse as the BBC and Macmillan; not to mention for hypnotherapist Paul McKenna. She has the ability to identify shared objectives that create commercially compelling propositions. Sally is a qualified nutritionist who pretends to go to the gym.
RustyInspector of Bins
Yes, we know, it’s silly having Rusty on the payroll. After all, as a Hungarian Vizsla he doesn’t speak a word of English; which may be why he was a stray in Warrington until recently. He now does three days a week here, in his role as Inspector of Bins. Though he also works hard at putting the fear of dog into anyone in a biker’s jacket. Which explains why our reception area is generally free of motorcycle couriers.
