An A-Z guide for design students

It’s that time again, where young design graduates up and down the country will be looking for any and every opportunity to take their first steps into a job in the industry. It’s tough, we’ve all been there – the final few weeks of your degree intensely focussed on curating your degree show, finalising your folder, but portfolios aren’t the be all and end all of getting a job.

A few years ago we were gifted a handmade book by two of our UCLAN placement students, Lucy Child and Jonathan Mount. A book of the lessons they’d learnt after experiencing a year in the design industry with us. Full of simple, honest advice we wanted to share with students and graduates trying to break into the industry, giving a taste of what to expect from life in a design studio.
